Epanoui Productions – 2024 – 172p ; Daniel et Françoise Dossmann sont Français, ils sont tous les deux nés à Paris où ils ont grandi. Ils se sont rencontrés à un cours de guitare classique quand Françoise avait 16 ans et que Daniel était l’un des professeurs. Ils n’avaient aucuns antécédents chrétiens. Ce livre est l’histoire de comment ils ont cherché Dieu, tout d’abord dans les religions orientales, et même jusqu’en Inde quand leur fils Olivier n’avait que deux ans. Et puis, une année plus tard, ils sont devenus Chrétiens, entièrement seuls avec une Bible. C’est ainsi qu’après avoir cherché Dieu ils ont compris que Jésus est le Chemin, la Vérité et la Vie.

Préface : Vous êtes à l’écoute d’une émission intitulée « Le chemin de la vie » présentée par Daniel Dossmann ». La voix chaleureuse de Françoise introduit ainsi les émissions radiophoniques qui ont été diffusées par des radios en France et dans le monde pendant des années. J’ai accepté de préfacer cet ouvrage qui relate leur histoire et surtout leur découverte de Dieu.

Voilà comment nous avons connu Daniel, Françoise et leur petit garçon Oliver au début du printemps 1974 : Nous avions aménagé le garage en salle de rencontre pour l’église évangélique de Palaiseau. Ils sont venus la première fois avec quelques jeunes filles, et leur apparence hippie nous a un peu surpris. Mais nous nous sommes tout de suite sentis très à l’aise les uns avec les autres.

Sans l’aide d’une église ils avaient fait la découverte de ce merveilleux Sauveur, mort à la croix et ressuscité. Ils avaient trouvé le Seigneur après de longues recherches. Le prophète Jérémie l’avait déjà dit en son temps : « Vous me trouverez, si vous me cherchez de tout votre cœur. » (Jér.29, 13)

Quel encouragement pour nous de faire la connaissance de ce groupe. Pendant des années notre petite église évangélique de Palaiseau avait évangélisé la région sans grand résultat visible. En 5 mois 4 membres étaient décédés et nous étions découragés. Nous avions beaucoup prié que Dieu touche des cœurs. Nous avions ajouté des moments de prière tôt le matin. Et peu après ce groupe est venu. Et presque en même temps d’autres jeunes sont venus. Nous les avions contactés lors des campagnes d’évangélisation et certains avaient assisté à nos réunions d’enfants, mais ils n’étaient plus venus depuis longtemps.

Quelle grâce ! Et quel réconfort aussi pour mon épouse Heidi et moi car nous avions récemment perdu notre troisième fils à l’âge de 22 mois. D’autres personnes se sont ajoutées, attirées par ces beaux témoignages. Plus tard Daniel et Françoise désiraient suivre une formation biblique à l’Ecole Biblique du « Roc » à Genève. Nous les avons vivement encouragés à suivre ce chemin. Avant de partir nous avons tous invité des amis à une réunion à la Salle des Fêtes de Palaiseau. Autour de 400 personnes sont venues. Les Dossmann ont chanté et témoigné et la Parole de Dieu était prêchée avec une grande conviction.

Nos contacts avec les Dossmann n’ont jamais été interrompus. Nous avons suivi leur parcours aux USA, à Quito, en Côte d’ivoire et nous avons prié pour eux. En revenant en France, Palaiseau était toujours une étape pour eux. Quand ils sont revenus en France en 2014, une porte s’est ouverte pour eux en Normandie, là où Dieu nous avait permis de fonder plusieurs églises avec l’aide d’une équipe missionnaire allemande.

Il ne me reste que de vous recommander une bonne lecture de cet ouvrage, en pensant peut-être à des personnes qui cherchent la vérité comme eux l’ ont cherchée.  Alfred et Heidi Kopp

Daniel and Françoise Dossmann are French, both born and raised in Paris. They met at a classical guitar class when Françoise was 16 and Daniel was one of the teachers. They had no Christian background. This book is the story of how they sought God, first in Eastern religions, and even as far afield as India when their son Olivier was just two. And then, a year later, they became Christians, entirely alone with a Bible. And so, after searching for God, they came to understand that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Preface : You are listening to a program entitled "Le chemin de la vie" presented by Daniel Dossmann. Françoise's warm voice thus introduces the radio programs that have been broadcast by radio stations in France and around the world for years. I agreed to give the preface to this book, which tells their story and, above all, their discovery of God.

This is how we met Daniel, Françoise and their little boy Oliver in the early spring of 1974: we had converted the garage into a meeting room for the Palaiseau evangelical church. They came for the first time with a few young girls, and their hippie appearance surprised us a little. But we immediately felt very comfortable with each other.

Without the help of a church, they had discovered this wonderful Savior, who died on the cross and rose again. They had found the Lord after a long search. The prophet Jeremiah had already said it in his time: "You will find me, if you seek me with all your heart." (Jer.29, 13)

What an encouragement for us to meet this group. For years, our little evangelical church in Palaiseau had been evangelizing the region with little visible result. Within 5 months, 4 members had died and we were discouraged. We prayed hard for God to touch hearts. We added early morning prayer times. And soon this group came. And almost at the same time other young people came. We had contacted them during our evangelization campaigns, and some had attended our children's meetings, but they hadn't come for a long time. What a grace ! And what a comfort it was for my wife Heidi and me too, as we had recently lost our third son at the age of 22 months.

Other people joined us, attracted by these beautiful testimonies. Later, Daniel and Françoise wanted to take a Bible course at the Ecole Biblique du "Roc" in Geneva. We strongly encouraged them to do so. Before leaving, we all invited friends to a meeting at the Salle des Fêtes in Palaiseau. Around 400 people turned up. The Dossmanns sang and witnessed, and the Word of God was preached with great conviction. Our contacts with the Dossmanns have never been interrupted. We followed their journey in the USA, Quito and the Ivory Coast, and prayed for them. When they returned to France, Palaiseau was always a stopover for them. When they returned to France in 2014, a door opened for them in Normandy, where God had allowed us to found several churches with the help of a German missionary team. It only remains for me to recommend that you give this book a good read, perhaps thinking of people who are seeking the truth as they sought it.                            Alfred and Heidi Kopp
